and the Microsoft Access system for maintaining the database behind it.

The Fondue Set is a leading jazz group, formed in 1997.
It is made up of Caitlin Smith on vocals,
Steve Gerrish on nylon and slide steel string guitars, and Graeme Webb
on jazz guitar, steel string acoustic guitar and fretless bass. They
perform at venues in and around Auckland. EIS were commissioned
by them to design and build their web site. The site features streaming audio
samples from their CDs.

Enterprise Motor Group is New Zealand's largest used vehicle dealership, with
seven branches in the North Island. We developed their website over several months.
The site is simple to navigate for the web user, but provides a large set of
background functions and reports for the sales staff and managers.
A conversion and upload process allows current vehicle data to be taken from the
computer systems in use at the branches and imported into the website's database,
along with photos of the vehicles. The vehicle directory is almost entirely database-driven,
meaning that it is easy for Enterprise to add new branches, vehicle makes, body styles etc. and to
control the calculation of prices and display of guarantees available for each vehicle.

We developed Hairbrain in May 2001. It is designed to provide a register of hair
salons and barbers, their stylists and the services they offer.
We host and maintain the site ourselves. In addition to a basic listing, a salon
can ask us to create a "web presence" for them, in the form of one to several pages.
We aim to offer online bookings in future.

Promato was commissioned by Topspin Systems Ltd. Promato
is a web technology based software product, normally run
on company intranets, for inventory management and
distribution of promotional items ("giveaways").
The development of Promato
entailed satisfying demanding user interface requirements and
implemenenting complex business rules. The underlying database
includes 25 database tables and may be installed on Microsoft
Access, Microsoft SQL Server or ORACLE database management systems.
A demonstration version of the application is available on the internet. To enter it use
the User Name "guest" and the Password "guest". (Note that the
database is refreshed from time to time so that any updates you make
to it, by adding a new promotional item for example, will eventually
disappear). Promato was developed to use late versions of internet
browsers and also requires Javascript and cookies to be
enabled.

General Travel New Zealand Limited is an inbound tour wholesaler founded in 1973.
Their business is selling New Zealand tourism product to travel wholesalers
and travel agents overseas, as well as organising tours to New Zealand
for conventions and special events.
We developed the Itinerary Planning Database area of their web
site, while General Travel staff have developed "static" pages to form
the rest of the site.
The itinerary planning database allows users to
browse General Travel's entire product manual, obtain seasonal rates
and view product information and pictures. Furthermore, it enables
customers to build a custom tour and submit it to General Travel
for confirmation and quoting.
A design consideration of the database is that it should be able, in
future, to be integrated with existing back-office inventory and accounting
systems (or take over from existing systems) and be able to be used
to generate the printed product manual.
The itinerary planning database area makes use of advanced features
available only in Internet Explorer 4.0 or above from Microsoft. You
need to use this browser to view the database area. Please use the guest login
number 2 and password mouse to gain access.

Guests of New Zealand is an Auckland-based company who specialise
in personalised tours for visitors to the city. We developed this
web site in just a day or so. It is a "static" site with no back-end database
but does include a programmatic feature in its Request for Information form.
This site makes use of advanced browser features such as cascading style sheets.
However, in conforming to the HTML standard, it "degrades" gracefully
so as to be accessible to any browser.

The Ellerslie Flower Show is New Zealand's largest. We developed this
static web site for General Travel New Zealand, which was the official
international travel agent for the show. It was approved and part-funded by the
New Zealand Tourism Board.
This site was written in "plain vanilla" HTML, so as to be accessible
to any browser. The site's artwork was modified from that used for
printed publicity material.

The Corporation of Insurance Brokers of New Zealand
is the main industry-representative body for insurance brokers in New Zealand.
It's website provides general 'question and answer' information about what insurance
brokers do, how and why to use them, codes of practice and complaint procedures.
The site provides a database-driven directory of members and allows visitors to apply
to become members. Each CIBNZ member is given a user name and password which they can
use to log in to a members' area of the site to obtain information about
continuing education and further qualifications, or to change their contact details if necessary.
CIBNZ staff can use the site to email news to members.

McAra Design & Advertising
asked us to develop an internet application for one of their clients to allow tracking
and ordering of tourist brochure materials for nationwide distribution. The application
keeps track of the numbers of brochures held at each distribution location and facilitates
the re-ordering of more brochures when stock at a location runs low.
We do not provide a link to the site, as it is password protected for use by the
client only.
